Why is this programme worth the investment?

The Journal to the Self Programme is more than just a workshop -- it's a life-changing experience. But I don’t have time – what will I need to find?

Time is tight – I get it. That’s why this workshop is designed to be efficient and impactful. You’ll only need 60-75 minutes to attend, and the journalling techniques you’ll learn can be done in as little as 5-10 minutes a day. Think of it as an investment in your clarity and calm, saving you time and energy in the long run.

I’m not a good writer. Does that matter?

Not one bit! Journalling isn’t about being a great writer, it’s about being honest with yourself. No one’s grading your grammar or judging your handwriting. The techniques shared are designed to help you bypass that inner critic and connect with your thoughts in a way that feels natural and freeing.

What if I don’t know what to write?

That’s completely normal, and it’s why I’m here to guide you. Journalling isn’t about knowing the ‘right’ thing to write. It’s about starting where you are. During the workshop, I’ll provide prompts and exercises to help you get the words flowing. You’ll be surprised at how much you have to say once you get started.

What if I can’t stay focused?

It's completely normal for your mind to wander, that's part of being human! Journalling actually helps train your focus over time. During the workshop, I'll share tips to keep you grounded, like using a 'thought jotter' to capture distractions and return to them later. Remember, it's not about perfection, it's about progress.

What do I need to get started?

All you need is a notebook and pen that you enjoy using. Many people find that writing by hand helps them connect more deeply with their thoughts, but if typing feels more comfortable for you, that works too. The key is to choose tools that make you excited to sit down and write.

Will I have to share my writing?

Your journal is always your private space, and sharing is completely optional - it's an invitation, never a requirement. That said, I've found that when participants do choose to share their insights (not necessarily their actual writing, but their reflections), it often has incredible impact. There's something powerful about hearing your own voice speak your thoughts out loud, and it usually helps people feel more comfortable opening up as the weeks progress. Many participants tell me that the moments when they chose to share became breakthrough moments in their journey. But please know - this is your experience, on your terms.

What if I have a question during the sessions?

Questions are absolutely encouraged! This is an interactive programme where we're all here to support each other's growth and learning. Unlike large webinars where you might feel lost in the crowd, our small group of 12 means there's space for real conversation, questions, and shared insights. I find that when one person asks a question, it often helps others who were wondering the same thing. Your curiosity and questions actually enrich the experience for everyone.

Is this workshop a substitute for therapy?

While journalling has incredible therapeutic benefits, this workshop is an educational experience designed to help you explore self-awareness and personal growth. It’s not a substitute for therapy, but it can complement professional support by giving you tools to process your thoughts and emotions in a structured way.

What if I’m already journalling and want more?

That's brilliant! If you're ready to deepen your practice, this programme is perfect for taking your journalling to the next level. You'll discover new techniques you've never tried before and gain a structured framework that will transform how you approach your writing practice.

What if journalling brings up emotions I need to talk through?

Journalling can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, and it's natural for deep emotions to surface as you explore your thoughts. If this happens, it's a sign that you're connecting with what truly matters to you. Take a pause, breathe, and know that reaching out to a qualified mental health professional is a sign of strength. They can help you process these emotions and move forward with clarity and confidence. Remember, this workshop is here to help you build self-awareness and resilience, and it can be a powerful complement to professional support.

What if I miss a session?

Life happens, and I understand that. All sessions are recorded so you can catch up if you miss one, though the live interaction is where the magic really happens. If you know in advance you might miss a session, just let me know and we can arrange a brief one-to-one catch-up call to ensure you don't fall behind in your transformation journey.

How much time will I need outside of the sessions?

The beauty of this programme is that the transformation happens during our time together, but you'll likely find yourself wanting to continue journalling between sessions. I recommend setting aside at least 15-20 minutes a few times a week to practice what we've explored, but there's no homework pressure. The techniques become part of your daily life naturally.

What's your refund policy?

I'm so confident in the transformation this programme creates that I offer a full refund if you attend the first session and feel it's not right for you. After that, because this is a live, interactive experience with limited spaces, refunds aren't available. However, I'm always here to support you through any challenges that come up during the programme.

Will this work if I'm dealing with serious mental health issues?

While journalling has incredible therapeutic benefits and can be wonderfully supportive alongside professional help, this programme is educational rather than therapeutic treatment. If you're currently working with a mental health professional, I'd encourage you to mention you're joining the programme - many find it complements their therapy beautifully. If you're not currently getting support but feel you might need it, I'm always happy to chat about whether this programme feels right for you at this time.

I'm a certified trainer in the Journal to the Self method, which means I've completed rigorous training with the Center for Journal Therapy - the organisation that's been pioneering therapeutic writing for 40 years. I also hold a Master's in Creative Writing and Wellbeing and have delivered numerous writing for wellbeing workshops in the local community, online, and for private organisations.

But beyond the credentials, I understand exactly where you are because I've been there myself. I restarted my life at 40, and journalling was one of the key tools that helped me navigate that transformation with clarity rather than chaos.

After two decades in marketing and copywriting, I followed my passion to help others discover the life-changing power of writing for wellbeing. I combine the proven Journal to the Self methodology with my own creative approaches to make the experience interactive and confidence-building. My goal isn't just to teach you techniques - it's to help you trust your own voice and wisdom again.
